Longevity: With advances in science, technology, and medicine, we should be able to live longer. Let’s live to 150. The following suggestions can help us live longer.
1. Food. The My Fitness Pal app counts calories and helps us to diet.This tool can give you insight into how many calories you need to maintain weight or lose it. There are many other diets that have helped people live longer. These include reduced food consumption, the Mediterranean diet, the Okinowan diet, and the 7th Day Adventist diet. Imitating the diets of these groups that live longer may help us live longer too.Reduced food consumption: Some experts, such as Dr. David Sinclair, recommend just eating 1 meal a day. Studies have shown that reducing calories in many animals results in them living longer. A meal a day diet should include at least 1200 calories per day according to healthline. Mediterranean diet: The hundred year olds in the Mediterranean such as those from Sardinia use the Mediterranean diet. Olive oil is the source of almost all fat. A little chicken and fish is eaten. Grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables make up a big part of this diet. One to two glasses of wine for men and a glass of wine for women may be consumed. Less red meat is used. Okinawa diet: There are many hundred year olds in Okinawa. The Okinawa diet consists mainly of vegetables and soy products. Small amounts of noodles, fish and pork may be included. Traditional Chinese herbs such as turmeric and mugwort are included. 7th day Adventist diet: There are many hundred year old 7th day Adventists in Linda Loma. They have a whole food plant based diet that excludes meats and processed foods such as sugar and flour. Vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts and beans make up much of their diet. Other recommendations: General trends in healthy diets include eating more plants and less meats. Other suggestions include eating more protein and less carbohydrates. Vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements may also be helpful. 2. Exercise. Exercise is important for longevity. Walking is said to be one of the best forms of exercise. The CDC recommends walking 5 miles per day. Google Fit app can help you track your walking. Resistance exercises such as lifting weights or jugs filled with water can help reduce the muscle loss associated with ageing. Consult your doctor or other fitness professional before beginning a resistance exercise program. Tai chi is a good martial art and exercise. Benefits of tai chi include reduced stress, anxiety, and depression. Increased stamina. Increased muscle tone. You may want to go to a gym to exercise as well. 3. No smoking. Smoking is one of the greatest threats to longevity. Smoking is the biggest cause of preventable disease, and kills around 8 million people per year according to the World Health Organization. Don't start smoking. Quit smoking if you are a smoker. There are many smoking cessation programs to help people quit smoking. Cold turkey, or just completely quitting and trying to continue to stop may still be one of the best ways to quit.4. Shelter. You will need adequate shelter to live a long life. Homelessness is a threat to longevity that we must work on preventing. At least 5,800 to 46,500 people die from homelessness every year according to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council. Homeless Shelters help reduce some of the atrocious hardships facing the homeless. Places that help people get jobs, such as Goodwill, also strive to reduce the threats of homelessness and poverty. 5. Activities. Avoid risky activities and behavior. There are over 4.4 million injury related deaths per year according to the World Health Organization. ⅓ of these are car crash related. Avoid exposure to radioactive and carcinogenic material. Try to engage in healthy activities such as walking. 6. Employment. You will need a job that earns enough for food shelter and other longevity wise things. Avoid work with radioactive chemicals such as uranium mining. Avoid work with hazardous and carcinogenic materials.7. Prayer. | recommend Catholicism for religion. | believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. | believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. Adequate medical care and attention is essential to longevity.9. Climate and pollution. Some researchers suggest moving to a mild climate could help us live longer. Avoiding pollution could also be helpful.10. Genetics. Researchers have found that there is a correlation to ancestors with longer lives. There may be longevity genes and genetic characteristics of longevity.
